It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion for helping others understand our technological world. My name is Richard Bagdazian (bag-DAY-zee-an) , and have been a Huntsville resident for the last 9 years. I am an electrical engineer by training and have worked in the field for over 30 years in many different roles. Currently, I am a consultant to the U.S. Army working for a small defense contractor.
Rocket City Renegades is designed to be a fun educational program to gently introduce students to modern electronic technology by providing a sequence of hands on experiences. The classes start with some very simple examples involving LED's and advance to more complex examples that will include using Bluetooth to communicate wirelessly and creating a web-cam. Each student will receive their own parts kit with everything that they need to do all of the exercises. The programming has already been written for each project and the students can experiment with the software to learn how it interacts to control their project. It's great fun and will de-mystify how things are done with modern technology.
We will meet once a week at one of Huntsville's public libraries or other space in the early evening from 5-7pm. This is still being worked out so follow us on facebook or register using our contact form to get current news about class meetings.
If you have any questions we'd love to hear from you.
